who we are

Spirit Worship is a modern Christian worship collective based in North County San Diego, California.

The group began when producer Corey Edelmann received a word from the Lord during a church service that he would make a worship album. Trusting that prompting, Corey reached out to Willie Register, Sarah Grant, and Brian McMaster, who joined the vision. From the start, the group set out to stretch the boundaries of what worship is “supposed” to sound like, and chose to focus mostly on electronic instruments for the production.

After two years of exploration and dedicated work, the album neared completion by January 2026, with just two tracks left needing vocals. Sarah was originally slated to sing on those tracks, but she came down with laryngitis and her recovery took longer than expected. During a prayer meeting, Sarah shared with Corey that she had a strong sense from the Lord that Chelsea Neel was meant to sing on the album. Chelsea agreed to join the project and ultimately completed the vocals on “Helper” and “Thy Kingdom Come.”

The entire record was self financed and recorded almost entirely in Corey’s bedroom closet. While the core members first connected through Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad, Spirit Worship is unaffiliated with any single church. Brian attends elsewhere, Willie is planting his own church (The Table), and additional background vocals (Maddie, Christina) feature gifted singers from other local congregations—reflecting the desire for unity in the broader Body of Christ.

The vision is simple: to worship the Lord. The how is what makes Spirit Worship unique.
